I will say I loved the book (although I did hate one or two of the characters). Mara and Sebastian broke my heart any number of times through the trilogy (I actually borrowed the first book from a friend, and ended up buying the trilogy that night when I finished it and absolutely couldn't wait to see what happened next). It was a different twist on zombie tales and a beautiful love story.Now the hate part: it was too short! They both suffer the consequences of a terrible medical mistake. This couple was affected severely by this medicine, as were hundreds of thousands or more of other people. There was pain, love, anger, manipulation, horror and so much more as a result of this medicine. I considered stopping the first book after only few pages, but I continued reading. The book was fast paced, hopeful, doubtful, crazy, impossible, yet possible. One of the most interesting and scary trilogy I've ever read. I loved it! Think you want to try out a bit of fantasy Don't hesitate to make this trilogy your first. You won't regret it. Then, after you've laughed and cried, move on to more of Shannon Mayer's other series like the Rylee Adamson series or the Celtic Trilogy. Shannon won't let you down.......2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.Apocalyptic LoveBy Nocturnus** This series is for mature young adults and adults only as it contains loads of graphic violence and some sexSunderedI found this book both heartwarming and exciting :) This is not your everyday apocalypse/post apocalyptic series... the core of this story is truly a love story but there is plenty of action and adventure to go around. I especially like the heroine and her steadfast refusal to ever give up. In this day and age there are very few true women heroes in any genre. The truly new take on zombies/mutants was very refreshing and inventive. I would recommend this series to mature young adults and adults only as there is sex and loads of violence but it is very entertaining and a fast paced read. I can not wait to read the next book!!!BoundThis book CANNOT be read before Sundered: The Nevermore Trilogy Book 1 (A Romantic Suspense) or you will be truly lost and lose alot of the beauty of this series... that said this is one of the best sequels I have read in a long time :)This book picks up pretty much right where the last on leaves off. It introduces new characters and explains alot about how this post-apocalyptic world came to be as it is. There are facets to the survivors world I find truly terrifying and disturbing. I can totally see this happening in our world and that is what is most frightening. Even though I truly enjoyed this book I would not recommend it for anyone feint of heart :) I can not wait to read the conclusion of the series as it is sure to be epic! I only wish the series was longer because I have enjoyed it so much and do not want to leave behind this world :(Scattered (bonus short story)This short story made me really invested in the brother and sister. It was really more of a "snack" than a short story but I enjoyed it :) There wasn't much violence or any sex so it would be appropriate for any young adult audience but I think they would be really confused if they did not know the backstory of the series. I wish it was longer!!!!! I hope these characters are reintroduced in the third book :)DauntlessI really liked this conclusion to the trilogy but I wish it had been longer :( An actual epilogue would have been nice also but as there is none it leaves the series open for another sequel series if the author decides to write one :) I have to say that any young adult could read this book because it is a lot tamer than the others.
