I was looking forward to our h/h getting back together and it was not what I expected at all.Trying not to give to much away....Grant and Christina are in love and have been together for years. They broke up last year and this book is their story getting back together. I didn't feel the forgiveness between them for the hurt they caused each other over the year or they didn't talk about their issues that broke them up in the first place. I didn't feel anything was resolved from the past for them to begin a new future together. I guess that is why I could not connect with these two. I didn't care for Grant's "whoring" around over the year or her with Ray. Turn off for me and when our h/h have meet.The whole conflict, twist, drama ( whatever you want to call it) at the end did not work for me at all. I didn't like it and you know/hope how it will turn out but again, total turn off for me.Three stars because we see the brothers and learn more about Carter and his story is next with Grace as our Heroine. I would recommend skipping this one if not for the second characters in this one.Hoping the next one will be better. I'm looking forward to Carter's story10 of 10 people found the following review helpful.I expect more from Jennifer AshleyBy Maria VillafuerteI waited anxiously for this book after falling in love with Christina and Grant in Adam, the first book of the series. My enthusiasm faded rapidly though as the book played out like an episode of Maury Povich's show. I won't reveal more on account of the "spoiler" effect. The situation that Christina found herself in with Ray was very confusing, considering how deeply she was still in love with Grant and how she pined every time that she saw him (again referencing book one of the series). Maybe I'm just over analyzing the situation or maybe I've just come to expect better stories from Jennifer Ashley. I still gave the book a 3 because Ashley is a great writer that tugs at the heartstrings (even when you're wondering about the characters dubious actions). I just know the rest of the series will get back on track and am still looking forward to the rest of the brothers' stories.5 of 5 people found the following review helpful.Thought I Would Hate It But Ended Up Liking ItBy Sheila MTHE STORY: Christina Farrell and Grant Campbell were together for years. After living together and breaking up, the two have been apart for over a year. Both were supposed to move on, but neither has been able to forget the other. At the wedding of their siblings, the two have an encounter that brings to life their love for one another and attraction to each other. They have a difficult road to travel, however, because the arguments of the past and difficulties of the present continue to threaten the chance of a happy ending for them.OPINION: I didn't expect to like this book. I cheated and jumped ahead and when I saw one of the pivotal plot points of the story (for Spoilers see the Worth Mentioning Section), I found that it was one of those plots that I just hate. I'm always willing to give a book a chance even if I think I will be disappointed. I'm glad I did. I still didn't like the turn of the plot, but I did like Christina and Grant. I thought there was something very appealing about a couple who had to struggle over a long period of time to finally commit completely to one another. I especially liked Grant who I thought got a bad deal in all this in that he had to give in again and again. He is a sweetheart.I am also looking forward to the next book with the brother Carter. His story progresses more in this novel.WORTH MENTIONING: SPOILERS AND A RANT.......I absolutely hate the guess the daddy storylines. I don't know how I am supposed to like a heroine who has sex with two guys in a week and doesn't use contraception either time. For me, this is more than a mistake, it is simple stupidity. For a thirty year old woman to be sexually active and not act in a responsible matter is one of those things that makes it really difficult for me to sympathize with her. That reason alone is why I give this book 4 stars. I ended up liking the book despite the premise, but not enough to fall in love with it.FINAL DECISION: After having to work myself up to read this since I didn't like one of the premises of the story, I ended up liking the treatment of the story and I loved Grant and Christina.CONNECTED BOOKS: GRANT is the second book in the Riding Hard series. This book can be read as a standalone.STAR RATING: I give this book 4 stars.See all 73 customer reviews...
